Mid-Week Ramblings

April 18, 2012

I really do love to blog. I do. Also: I love to read blogs. For some reason, I’m failing at both lately. Well, actually, I know the reason. The reason is lack of time. Valuable time, where I can create a post of substance and not of ramblings. Although, honestly, I like to read other people’s posts about mish-mash, so why is it not good enough for my own blog? ← rhetorical question

After my last post where I may have come off as sounding as if I was bitching about my new job, I want to clarify → my job is pretty damn good. It’s solid, busy, and puts awesome extra money in my pockets. Did I mention, busy? Yeah, it’s actually very draining cuz there’s so much work to do. (Hence the lack of blogging, cuz I’m in no mood to blog afterwards) I’m the type of person that doesn’t like to leave work undone. I’ve always been that way – where I will work my hind-end off to get all my work done as soon as possible so that I can goof around for the remainder of the work day. Except, now, the work is so far behind that I won’t be goofing off for the next 19.82 months … approximately. Although I try to catch up every day, there’s just no light at the end of the tunnel – unless I transfer to another department, which won’t happen until I pass the 3-month probationary period. And I find it hard to believe that I haven’t even worked for this company for 3 months yet, what with all the work I’ve done. I digress.

We had a houseguest – a former coworker of my husband’s from Austin – who was staying with us during their annual industry conference here in Las Vegas this past week. He finally went home today, and the conference is winding down. Officially, I think tomorrow is the last day. And tomorrow night, another colleague of my husband’s is taking both of us to dinner and then to see O at the Bellagio – one of the perks of actually *living* here instead of just visiting cuz otherwise I probably wouldn’t be invited. I am totally pumped to see O. It’s a cirque show combined with synchronized swimming … or something , and I do love me some skinny people contorting their bodies in mid-air, don’t you? That and (off-) broadway musicals are my two favorite forms of entertainment.

Oh, yeah, one more thing: my husband was offered a job this week as well … in Dallas. That’s Texas, if you didn’t know. As in, the state I would LOVE to live in again. {sigh!}

All my friends are moving to TX. It could be an option for us in a few years as well. Maybe this is a sign. :-)

We’ve been to most of the Cirque shows (on the locals two for one times) and O is my favorite. Have fun!

When are your move out people showing up?

I get that feeling now and again. I feel like a mish mash post myself. May tonight only mine will be to complain. Sometimes you just got to….

The thought of turning on my computer on the weekends sends shards of hatred through me lately. It is like I am rebelling by not using the computer.

I have never been to Texas but….

Label me jealous. I totally want to go see that show too! Hope you have fun. Try to write a post about it sometime soon so I can pretend I was there with you. <– creepy much?

So does that mean you ARE moving back to Texas or is it still up in the air? Only asking cause I need to get my ass out to Vegas & visit you before you're gone forevah.
