Last week, my husband came home from work with one of those cookies-in-a-jar gifts. It was from his boss. Well, his boss AND his wife. Cuz, let’s be honest, his wife did all the work. And the gift tag even said, “From (boss & wife).” So, yeah, of course she put together the jars and her husband just passed them out at work. And I thought to myself, “Wow! What a great idea! So much better than a purchased box of chocolates.” Well, at least I thought so. And then I read the tag. It said BAR cookies. BAR. As in, dump the contents in a baking dish and bake. No “dropping dough on a cookie sheet.” So much less work, amiright? And it’s homemade. ♥
So, I was thinking, why keep this little gem to myself! Cuz, here’s the thing ➝ it *looks* so personal, but it’s really not. It’s actually so simple! You just layer four ingredients in a jar, print up a recipe, and hand them out to your friends. Voila. From your kitchen to theirs minus the “slaving over a hot oven” part. And like I said, it’s a BAR and not cookies. So much LESS work involved on their part. Genius! I wish I could take full credit for this idea. Truly I do.
The recipe itself, No-Fuss Bar Cookies, has been around for ages. I can’t even credit one source for it cuz I don’t even know the original source. But the bars are incredibly yummy. (And, separately, I don’t even like two of the ingredients: coconut & walnuts, but in this recipe, very, very, very tasty!)

Easy, no hassle & it has chocolate…you’ve got my attention! Love this. You can bet I’ll be passing out some of these suckers on Christmas. And I’m not gonna lie, I’ll probably take credit for it too. Sorry, haha.
Thanks for sharing!
I’ve been looking for a good recipe in a jar. Thinking of making these for Matthew’s 1st bday as party favors. He’s having a sock monkey theme so I will call them ‘Monkey Bars’, haha.
Thanks!!!!
